Massawepie is located in the Adirondack Mountain area of New York State. Covering over 3700 acres providing a perfect backdrop for traditional Boy Scout Summer camps and wilderness program treks. The property has a private lake, eight ponds and over 20 miles of hiking. Owned and operated by Seneca Waterways Council, formerly owned by Otetiana Council. The camp also has family camping available.
The camp is split into 3 sections Pioneer (base for traditional summer camp), Mountaineer (Mainly rented as family camps) and Forester (an old summer camp area now going back to nature, used as a base for the in camp trek programs)
Program activities include water sports, boating, sailing, swimming, canoeing, shooting sports, archery, riffle, BB gun, shotgun, C.O.P.E course, climbing walls, mountain biking, BMX biking, aerial archery, log rolling, scoutcraft, outpost programs, hiking, orienteering, In-Camp Treks, Adirondack trek center and more…..
Older scout programs:
- Mountain Fox – the mountain fox program gives older scouts the opportunity to experience camp outside of the traditional merit badge programs. Scouts will camp with their units but during the day will go out and discover various custom tailored activities including hiking, overnight camping, mini-treks, canoeing, summiting Adirondack High Peaks, mountain biking and includes a White Water Rafting trip.
- Forester Program – This program will take the older scouts on an in camp trek program. The scouts come into Massawepie with their units on Sunday and leave for the Forester Program on Monday morning returning back to their units on Friday.
