Ten Mile River is owned and operated by the Greater New York Council, encompassing 12,000 acres in the Catskill region of New York State. During the summer months the council operates a Boy Scout Summer camp. The summer camp is over three different camps Camp Aquehonga, Camp Ranchqua, Camp Keowa and a family camp. They also offer a High Adventure Trek based out of the camp.
The Trek program is a 5 day program where scouts will have the opportunity to backpack, canoe, practice wilderness survival, climbing and orienteering.
Program activities include aquatics, scout skills, nature/ecology, handicrafts, shooting sports, mountain biking, SCUBA program, pool, obstacle course, archery, rifle, shotgun, COPE course, scoutcraft, lakefront, canoeing, boating, swimming, field sports, geocaching, orienteering, hiking, fishing and more….
Trek options include target paintball, mountain boarding, fishing, tomahawk throwing, Indian Cliffs natural rock rappel or climb, canoeing or kayaking on the Delaware and horse program
